Background

HelloFax are based in San Francisco, California. They are a small digital faxing provider that aim their services at small-scale customers.

At the time of writing, HelloFax haven’t sought accreditation from the Better Business Bureau.

Operations and Functionality

HelloFax’s system boasts a straightforward, user-friendly interface that make sending faxes very easy even for new users. HelloFax also gives you the option of sending and receiving faxes through the usual email method. HelloFax will also provide you with a local telephone number for the purpose of faxing. However, you can’t port across an existing fax number to the HelloFax system. They have, however, set up a service so that you can sign up for an email acknowledgement when this service becomes available, which HelloFax are currently working on.

You can store an unlimited number of faxes on the HelloFax system, which greatly surpasses the storage provisions offered by most providers. However, unlike many other providers, they don’t offer multiple email addresses to send faxes, you can only send from one address.

HelloFax enables you to send an unlimited number of documents in each fax, but limits 30 MB per document. Faxes can be forwarded to up to ten recipients. You can’t schedule fax deliveries, though.

HelloFax provide a free thirty day trial period for you to try their services before you sign up. This includes a combined total of 500 free pages, and therefore represents excellent value. However, being a small company, they don’t yet offer live customer support, but they have a very responsive email service.

Pricing and Packages

HelloFax have three main monthly packages available:

For $4.99 per month, you can fax 50 free pages, and make 10 signature requests every month.

For $9.99 per month, you can fax 500 free pages, send faxes to multiple recipients, and have unlimited signature requests every month.

For $69.99 per month, you can fax 2,000 free pages, send faxes to multiple recipients, and have unlimited signature requests every month.

Another excellent feature of HelloFax is that they maintain free faxing options for several international areas.

The Bottom Line

HelloFax are an excellent service for the business that doesn’t fax a huge amount, but needs a steady regular service. Their storage options are particularly impressive and useful, and they may appeal to a company that needs long-term storage in particular.

Background

OneSuite first began providing digital fax services in 1999. The company claims to have been the first online faxing provider to have introduced pay-as-you-go billing. OneSuite is registered and based in Los Angeles, California. OneSuite offers several subscription-based VoIP and Internet-based faxing services.

At the time of writing, the OneSuite company has yet to seek Better Business Bureau accreditation.

Operations and Functionality

There is no set-up charge for OneSuite, who offer both local and toll-free fax numbers as required. OneSuite provides a mobile application which is compatible with laptops, iPhone, BlackBerry, Androids and tablet computers. If you want to try OneSuite’s service before you sign up to them, then you can get a month’s free trial.

You receive five email addresses to receive faxes when you sign up to OneSuite. The company also provides you with a free voicemail service, which you can receive in any one of five ways, including VoIP.

OneSuite’s VoIP service enables you to send one voice message to several recipients simultaneously. You can receive an unlimited number of incoming VoIP calls for free. The VoIP incorporates various features, such as Caller ID, the blocking of international calls (if required), and an accessible log of all calls. You can port your existing fax number and / or phone number across to OneSuite.

OneSuite also provides you with an online browser in order for you to send faxes with is compatible with both PCs and Apple Macs. You can send bulk faxes to up to five recipients at one time. The OneSuite system enables you to track both inbound and outbound fax records for three months, and provides you with notification when you send a fax.

Pricing and Packages

OneSuite have a series of very cheap subscriptions available, their prices really vary depending upon what sort and scope of service that you require from them.

There isn’t a straightforward monthly charge with OneSuite. There is instead a minimum $10 charge for creating an account, and various packages that follow on from that expenditure. Faxes sent within the United States cost 2.5 cents each.

The Bottom Line

OneSuite provide some good VoIP services, and for those companies who require this service, their website is well worth checking out. Their online faxing service is a bit limited for those who require a serious service.

Background

FaxPipe are a subsidiary brand name of the AirCom USA corporation. AirCom are registered in Provo, Utah. FaxPipe has been providing digital faxing services for 12 years. FaxPipe pledge to never sell any of your data to third parties or partner companies.

FaxPipe’s parent company AirCom USA registered with the Better Business Bureau in May, 2012. They are currently in possession of the highest rating from the BBB of A+.

Operations and Functionality

FaxPipe is a fax-to-email provider who provide you with a local or toll-free number as required. The FaxPipe interface is straightforward and easy to use, and will necessitate no training of staff as sending a fax simply resembles sending an email with an attachment.

FaxPipe has some excellent security features. Users can have faxes delivered as secure, encrypted, password-protected PDF files. You can also have sent faxes delivered directly to a secure web or FTP server of your choice. If you need to be HIPAA or GLB compliant then FaxPipe is an excellent choice.

FaxPipe must be commended for their customer service. Their website offers FAQs, video tutorials and email support. They also have an excellent customer service phoneline which does not force you wait in a queue. This line is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, MST. All in all, the company is deserving of its A+ rating with the BBB.

FaxPipe offers 800 and 888 number free of charge, and do not charge users for porting a number into the service. FaxPipe offers local numbers for thirteen US states. The number of documents that you can send via the FaxPipe system is dependent upon which email service you wish to use.

FaxPipe only offer ten days of storage, considerably less than offered by most digital fax providers. However, the service provides you with five email addresses to receive faxes, and you can send faxes from an unlimited number of email addresses.

Pricing and Packages

FaxPipe offer six basic email faxing packages.

The cheapest package is available for $3.95 per month, which enables you to send and receive 25 fax pages per month.

The next largest package is available for $6.95 per month, and it enables you to send and receive 75 fax pages per month.

Should you require more faxing than that then another package is available for $8.95 per month, which enables you to send and receive 200 fax pages per month.

The next package up from this is available for $12.95 per month, and it enables you to send and receive 300 fax pages per month.

For approximately double this, you can order the next passage up at $24.95 per month. This package enables you to send and receive 600 fax pages per month.

Finally, FaxPipe’s biggest package costs $36.95 per month, and enables you to send and receive 900 fax pages per month.

The Bottom Line

FaxPipe offers a decent service, and has excellent ratings for customer service, but its packages are somewhat more expensive than some of its competitors. Nonetheless, if you want the peace of mind of signing up for a service with an A+ BBB rating then they certainly merit some consideration.

Background

PopFax.com has been providing Internet fax services since 2005, and operates on a global basis. The head office of PopFax is based in Versailles, France. Popfax provides Internet faxing services that can cater for both individual and business needs. PopFax have more than 50,000 customers worldwide, and provide local numbers to businesses based in 500 cities across more than 20 nations, with 24 languages supported.

At the time of writing, neither PopFax nor its parent company POPESCO has sought Better Business Bureau accreditation.

Operations and Functionality

The PopFax platform can be delivered in one of two versions; either send-only or send-and-receive. Naturally, the former of these only allows the user to send faxes. You can send faxes via a web-fax interface, or via mail-to-fax.

PopFax’s email-to-fax option enables you to send faxes to as many as 500 recipients at once, and if you are a big business that accumulates a faxing volume in excess of 10,000 faxes per month, then PopFax will offer you a special contract that includes a “customized technical and commercial interface”. PopFax also offers voicemail, and you can send email-to-text faxes, utilising PopFax as a sophisticated SMS service if you wish to do so. PopFax also supports conference calling, and the company also provides a call transfer service.

Inbound faxes are stored by the PopFax system in an online interface. Email alerts regarding received faxes are standard, but you can also sign up for SMS alerts should you wish to do so.

PopFax provides you with a personalized fax cover sheet, but you can customize this should you wish to do so.

Pricing and Packages

The PopFax pricing structure is dependent on several factors, including which country you wish to fax to and from. The company offers two packages that allow unlimited fax reception, and numerous packages that enable you to send various amounts of pages. They also have an interface on their website that enables you to assess the cost of various amounts of sending and receiving based on your personal circumstances.

The Bottom Line

PopFax incorporate some rare features into their service which may make them attractive to some businesses. If you require conference calling or email-to-SMS then they are definitely worth a look. They may not appeal to more general US-based businesses due to their pricing structure, and the fact that the website prices all of its services in euros and sterling.

Background

InterFax is one of the most established digital faxing providers having launched its first faxing service over fifteen years ago in 1996, and its first Internet-based package three years later. InterFax has grown into a multinational business which deals with 60 million faxes each year. InterFax have registered offices all over the world, in locations such as London, Houston, Stuttgart, Tokyo and Istanbul.

At present InterFax hasn’t sought accreditation with the Better Business Bureau.

Operations and Functionality

InterFax supports numerous email applications. As well as the likes of Outlook and Outlook Express, InterFax can also be used with web-based email servers including Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail. All major file formats such as PDF, TIFF and HTML are supported.

InterFax enables you to send faxes from multiple email addresses, and its system automatically associates them with a single username for you. The InterFax system offers fax receipt notification, but also offers the rare feature of allowing the user to customise this as per individual requirments. Thus, InterFax can be optimised to always notify you, only when faxes are successful, only when faxes are unsuccessful, or never. The system will make ten attempts to connect and send your fax, and you can customise the intervals between each of these ten attempts, and schedule faxes to be sent at whatever time of the day is required by users.

Pricing and Packages

InterFax operates a sliding scale of prices dependent upon what you are willing to pay and how much faxing you require. The system is quite customisable depending upon your individual needs, and the amount of pages that you receive is dependent upon where you wish to fax to and from. It is difficult to summarise the pricing structure of InterFax succinctly, but what can be said is that there are packages covering everything from a few dozen pages per month, to tens of thousands, so everyone is catered for.

The Bottom Line

InterFax has a very user-friendly, customisable email faxing system and an incredibly large number of possible packages to every conceivable destination in the world. In addition, the company has been around for a very long time in Internet faxing terms, and has an established worldwide reputation. Definitely one of the market leaders in digital faxing.

AirComUSA was founded fifteen years ago, and is currently based in Provo, Utah. AirComUSA claim to take great pride in the high quality of their customer service, which is reflected in their Better Business Bureau rating of A+.

Operations and Functionality

AirComUSA provides all users with a toll-free or local fax number depending on their needs. As with many email fax providers, AirComUSA enables you to receive faxes in both PDF and TIFF format.

There are numerous folders provided by the AirComUSA system in order to store any junk faxes that you might succeed.

Background

FaxAge is a subsidiary brand name of EC Data Sytems Inc. EC Data Systems is a software service company that presently operates out of Denver, Colorado. EC Data Systems has been involved in telecommunications technology for over a decade. FaxAge aims its services at businesses which are small to medium-sized. At present, neither EC Data Systems or FaxAge have sought Better Business Bureau accreditation.

FaxAge will provide you with a local or toll-free number as required.

FaxAge offers many different basic packages. Here is a summary of them:

Professional Individual: The individual package enables you to send up to 300 faxes each month, and also receive the same number, for a monthly fee of $7.95. Any faxes sent or received over this limit costs 5 cents each. There is also a set-up fee for this scheme of $5.

In addition to this, there is also a lite package that simply charges you 5 cents per fax, and involves a monthly fee of $3.49.

Business: FaxAge has three business packages – Unlimited Inbound, Small Office and Toll-Free 1500.

Unlimited Inbound charges you 5 cents for every fax that you send, but you can receive as many inbound faxes as you wish without ever having to pay an extra fee. This package costs $19.95 per month.

Small Office is very similar to Unlimited Inbound, except that it also gives you the provision to send 400 faxes without incurring further charge. This package costs $29.95 per month.

Toll-Free 1500 offers you 750 outgoing faxes and 750 inbound per month, for a fee of $19.95 per month. Each fax sent and received over this limit costs 5 cents.

Each of these packages requires a set-up fee of $5.

Volume: FaxAge offers two packages in this category. Unlimited lets you send and receive as many faxes as you want without ever incurring an overage charge. It costs $64.95 per month. Toll-Free Unlimited Outbound offers you a toll-free number, and allows you to send an unlimited number of faxes each month. You have the provision to receive 500 faxes each month, with an overage charge of 5 cents per fax.

Both of these packages incur a $5 set-up fee.

Carrier: This package charges you 2.3 cents per minute for fax connections, and provides you with a local and toll-free number. There is a $5 set-up fee for this package.

The Bottom Line

FaxAge cover every single base with their packages, with their volume package being pretty unlimited in the industry. They don’t seem to have quite the functionality of some other providers, but if they provide what you require then you should check out whether their packages are cost effective for your business.

Background

Fax.com is another subsidiary brand name used by Data on Call, who also have further fax companies under the names of RapidFax, TrustFax, SmartFax and Send2Fax. Data on Call is based in San Diego, California, and currently has not sought Better Business Bureau accreditation.

Operations and Functionality

Fax.com offers all of the basic features that one would expect to find in a digital fax service package.

Firstly, Fax.com offer every business that signs up with them a choice of a local or toll-free telephone number, freeing you of the need to have a separate telephone line for your faxing. Fax.com also offers a mobile faxing service, which can be accessed through either laptops or mobile phones as required.

Faxes are sent through email on Fax.com, with files being sent as either PDF or TIFF attachments. The Fax.com interface also enables users to compose and edit their own faxes. Fax.com will also support incoming faxes in virtually any major file format that you care to name.

Fax.com will store your faxes online for thirty days in a secure personal account. After thirty days of storage Fax.com will charge you one cent per day for any faxes that you wish for them to store.

Fax.com also enables you to add multiple email addresses to your account, thus allowing many of your employees access to Internet faxing. You can send faxes from any computer and send multiple messages simultaneously.

Pricing and Packages

Fax.com has an extremely straightforward pricing structure. The provider offers a single passage which costs $9.99 per month, and for which you are entitled to fax 300 pages. Fax.com does not require you to make a long-term commitment, and you can renew your package on a month-to-month basis.

The Bottom Line

Fax.com is a pretty ordinary Internet faxing provider, there is nothing extraordinary about what they offer or any of their services. However, there is nothing hidden regarding the company, and Data on Call have a pretty good reputation. If they provide the functionality that you require, and the you’re happy with 300 pages faxing per month, then they may be worth a look.
